April 2008: Supported Camp Sunshine for 15,000 for 2008. They already have 6 Long Islanders set for us for this summer and asked if we would sponsor one family to attend bereavement session at the camp.

April 2008: Partnered with the NY Mets and the American Cancer Society to send many deserving patients and their families to enjoy a series of great days at Shea

April 2008: Partnered with Tay Bandz Dance a thon which raised over $35,000 for the cause. They were very thankful and gave out ALL of the Met’s tickets that the Steven M Perez Foundation was happy to donate.

March 2008: supported Gisele Z., a 2 yr old girl with leukemia from Copiague in her battle against cancer

March 2008: Supported Chelsea B. who is the youngest of three sisters. We previously supported her old sister who is a cancer survivor. Jaime said she remembered how the scholarship helped her and still puts a smile on her face.

February 2008: Donated to Camp Sunrise $25,000 and the camp will name the Half Court Basketball area for Steven and part of the new playground.

February 2008: TNT support for Shayna S. for her half marathon on April 28th

November 2007: The Foundation is proud to support Santa's Hideaway Hollow in Middlefield, Ohio, to create Stevie P’s General Store. Children with many types of illness visit Santa’s Hideaway throughout the year, and we are happy to help make their experience fun and memorable.

October 2007: The Foundation proffered support to Ilissa S, a 26 year-old schoolteacher who recently passed away from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). Originally undergoing treatment in White Plains near her home, Ilissa transferred to Sloan-Kettering, where she underwent bone marrow transplant surgery. After a short return home, Ilissa was re-admitted and finally lost her battle with Leukemia. Her family
greatly appreciates The Foundation’s support.

October 2007: The Foundation proffered support to Matthew W, a nineteen year-old volunteer firefighter from Katonah. Matthew is being treated for Lymphoma at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. His family appreciates the help for everyday expenses, including parking in Manhattan.

September 2007: Chris Singleton, Scott Redler, Jon Rothschild and Steven Dixon completed the Westchester triathlon on September 23. The Foundation is proud of their efforts to raise money and awareness on our behalf.

September 2007: The Foundation supported “Marvin’s Team”, led by Michelle Rehs, in the “Light the Night” Walk sponsored by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

August 2007: The Foundation sponsored ten families at Camp Sunshine in Casco, Maine, a retreat for children with life threatening diseases and their families. Our donation of $15,000.00 went to tuition for ten children from New York with Leukemia to enjoy the facilities and programs Camp Sunshine has to offer with their parents and siblings for a one-week stay.

August 2007: The Los Lobos Locos kickball team names SMP their “Play For Your Cause” charity after an undefeated season playing in the ZogSports summer league

August 2007: Employees Dana Perez, Andy Streiter and Brian Donahue made donations on behalf of CareerBuilder.com after winning a sales contest for 2007

July 2007: The 4th Annual “El Rey Banana” Golf Outing, held at Tam O’Shanter Country Club in Brookville, NY was a huge success. On July 16th, over 200 people came out to support The Foundation and enjoy the day, which included a round of golf, raffles, a silent auction and a cocktail hour followed by a buffet dinner. The event raised over $150,000.00 for The Foundation.

July 2007: Scott Redler completes the Ironman® USA Lake Placid with a phenomenal time of 12 hours, 44 minutes, 37 seconds, finishing 868 out of 2,051 who finished.

June 2007: Nine candidates from the New York area were selected to receive the Steven M. Perez Scholarship. We are always looking for new ways to connect with deserving scholarship candidates. Their experiences, either in support of a loved one or of living with disease themselves, are a continuing source of inspiration for us all.

June 2007: Our donation of $12,000.00 made it possible for us to establish a permanent memorial for Steven on the basketball court and for four children to attend Sunrise Day Camp in Wheatley Heights, New York. Sunrise Day Camp, under the auspices of the Barry and Florence Friedlberg JCC in Oceanside, NY, is the only dedicated day camp in the nation for children with cancer.

May 2007: The Foundation was excited to welcome the Perez girls to this world on May 14th. Through their English and Hebrew names, Sarah Lily and Haley Rose carry on the names of their great-grandparents, and of course, their Uncle Steven. As these months have passed we all have enjoyed watching the twins develop and often remind ourselves how much Steven would have enjoyed being part of their lives and game-playing.

with the Team in Training® in the New York City Marathon in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She acknowledged The Foundation’s support.

May 2007: The Comedy Event at Gotham Comedy Club was sold out for it’s 3rd successful year. Thanks to Sal “The Stockbroker” Governale and Dana Perez for their efforts to make this event such a great night.

May 2007: This year, fourteen campers were sponsored by The Steven M. Perez Foundation to attend Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times©. This sponsorship includes all the camp activities and accommodations, plus the specialized training for counselors required by the camp to ensure the safety and well-being of each child.

April 2007: Lindsey B acknowledged the support of The Steven M. Perez Foundation in New York Magazine regarding the treadmill she purchased with our donation. We offer our fondest hopes to Lindsay, and continue to pray for her recovery.

April 2007: Lee Edelson’s dodgeball team, Flava of Law, selects The SMP Foundation as their “Play For Your Cause” charity and wins their tournament..

March 4, 2007: The Steven M. Perez Foundation was proud to be a sponso of the Jacob’s Cure Family Bowl and Tournament Strike Out Canavan Disease.

February 24, 2007: More than 600 New York City professionals came out to the Black Tie & Black Jack Casino Night, to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Steven M. Perez Foundation was a proud sponsor of this exciting event, entitling us to having our logo featured on one of the gaming tables

December 2006: Through the efforts of Chris Singleton and David Worby, The Foundation was able to give $20,000 in holiday gifts to Ground Zero workers diagnosed with leukemia or related cancers.

November 2006: Ruby Sekhorn, a lawyer from Mayer Brown heard about Steven’s story through a business relationship with Rickey. She was inspired by the story and the Perez family and asked if she could participate with the Team in Training support for the NYC Marathon.

September 2006: For the 3rd year in a row and to continue the tradition of getting together to celebrate Steven’s birthday about 50 of his nearest and dearest reserved the back room at Mo’s Caribbean

August 2006: The Foundation supported Lindsey Brass, a twenty-six year old law student, in her fight against AML (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia).

August 2006: Foundation sponsored a Save the Children Foundation golf event at Lawrence Country Club arranged by the Dennis Blair Foundation and our friends Charlie Blair and Joe Perrone from Blair Perrone Restaurant.

July 17, 2006: The 3rd Annual “El Rey Banana” Golf Outing was held at the Tam O’Shanter Country Club in Brookville, New York. A full field and a host of generous sponsors made it a huge success; we raised over $150,000, almost double the amount raised last year.

July 16, 2006: Steven Dixon, Scott Redler and Celena Redler completed the New York City Triathlon as part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training®.

June 4, 2006: Scott Redler completed the Escape From Alcatraz™ Triathlon in 3 hours, 8 minutes, single-handedly raising approximately $30,000 for the Foundation.

June 2006: Fifteen candidates from the New York area were selected to receive the Steven M. Perez Scholarship.

June / July 2006: Scott Redler continues to race for a greater goal on June 4, 2006 at the Escape from Alcatraz Triathalon. Scott was hand selected to participate given his physical and financial accomplishments achieved at the NYC Triathalon for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

May 2006: The Foundation was happy to donate $3,000 to Camp Sunrise in Melville, NY

May 2006: $15,000 was donated to Camp Sunshine to sponsor ten campers.

May 2006: Ten campers were sponsored by The Steven M. Perez Foundation to attend Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times.

April 21, 2006: Sal “The Stockbroker” Governale and Dana Perez have negotiated another great “Night of Laughs” at Gotham Comedy Club.

March 2006: The Steven M. Perez Foundation was happy to be a sponsor of the Jacob’s Cure family Bowl “Strike-Out Canavan Disease” Event. Jacob’s Cure, a non-profit foundation, that was established in September 2000 to save the life of Jacob, who is afflicted with Canavan disease, a devastating genetic brain disorder. Experiencing all of the love and support everyone has for Jacob is a testament of their generosity and tireless effort to find a cure. The Foundation was very pleased to help support this important cause and to help promote awareness of a rare and very challenging childhood disease.

February 2006: Evaluating an opportunity to help Camp Ronald McDonald “For Good Times” provide assistance to cancer / leukemia patients throughout the United States. The camp helps these special children enjoy being a child and provides an opportunity for them to have fun and interact with other children experiencing similar circumstances.

October 2005: The Foundation donated $21,000 in support of the families of seven children suffering from leukemia. These children were relocated form New Orleans area hospitals to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston because of Hurricane Katrina. Hopefully our donations will provide these families with a small amount of relief and an opportunity to do something together as a family.

September 2005: Over fifty of Steven’s friends joined us at Mo’s Carribean to celebrate his birthday and enjoy a fun Thursday night out together for his birthday.

August 2005: “Los Reyes” defended their dodgeball championship title, winning another tournament in honor of Steven. Their win was also dedicated to the speedy recovery of our friend David Schneider who is recovering from pancreatitis. We congratulate Glenn Hechler, Steven Dixon and the rest of their team for another tremendous victory.

August 2005: Scott Redler raised almost $20,000 in the New York City Triathalon. $14,198 went directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, who generously donated half that amount to The Foundation. In addition to that sum, Scott raised approximately $5,000 for The Foundation directly through raffle tickets and private donations from people who supported him through all his hard work in the months leading up to the Triathalon. We congratulate Scott on an incredible finish and express our deepest appreciation for his love and tireless effort.

July 2005: Ten families were sponsored by The Foundation to attend Camp Sunshine, a camp that supports children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. We are pleased to report that The Foundation donated over $16,500 to provide opportunities for young cancer patients to enjoy a week away.

July 2005: The David Corey Challenge, a Foundation sponsored contest to guess the combined completion time for Scott and Michelle, was won by Max Hechler. Good guess, Glenn!!

July 2005: Scott Redler and Michelle Marx successfully completed the NYC Triathalon with a combined time of just under six hours on Sunday, July 10th. It was a beautiful morning and over fifty people came out to cheer Scott and Michelle as they finished the race. Many stayed to enjoy the day in Central Park and celebrate with the athletes.

June 2005: The Foundation raised over $80,000 at the second annual “El Rey Banana” Golf Outing, held on June 20th. The event was attended by over 100 participants and would not have been possible without the help of our generous sponsors, volunteers and all the terrific silent auction and raffle items. We look forward to using these funds to promote awareness about CML and other related cancers and to help patients and their families battle these devastating diseases.

June 2005: Scott Redler, on behalf of The Steven M. Perez Foundation, was honored for his leadership and fundraising abilities at the NYC Triathalon award ceremony. After many months of hard work and training, we are proud to say that Scott raised almost $20,000 to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Foundation.

June 2005: Six students from the New York area who are suffering from cancer or lost a parent or sibling to cancer were awarded college scholarships from The Steven M. Perez Scholarship Fund. Successful coordination with the respective guidance counselor offices and in coordination with the Blood Related Cancers Ward at North Shore Hospital helped to identify these deserving candidates.

June 2005: Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation notified the Foundation that we were the recipient of one of their employee sponsored awards. Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation donated funds to just ten organizations throughout the country in support of programs designed to enhance the lives of children. The Steven M. Perez Foundation is honored to be among them, and we deeply appreciate this substantial gift.

May 2005: Comedy Night at Stand-Up NY was a great night of fun and laughs, sponsored by Sal “The Stockbroker” Governale. Our special thanks go to Artie Lange, Reverend Bob Levy and the rest of the Howard Stern Show crew who donated their time to make May 13th a night to remember.

April 2005: The Foundation participated in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Spring Fling event at the Latin Quarter. On behalf of The Foundation, Lauren Jarvis and Alana Yavers arranged for a fabulous night in Manhattan and braved the auction process, donating their time to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

October 2004: Some of Steven’s close friends put together a dodgeball team and Team “Los Reyes” won their 1st tournament at Chelsea Piers and dedicated their championship to the memory of Steven.

September 2004: Dana and her friends represented The Steven M. Perez Foundation in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. The event was a big success and the girls had a special night doing something positive for a great cause.
